Concept — Feasibility — Schematic — Development

Architecture design, drawn through to the point of build.

I take a project from first sketch to a design development package ready for construction documentation — clarifying scope, testing feasibility, and resolving the design so nothing gets rebuilt later.

Process

Four phases, one continuous line of thinking.

01

Concept

Site analysis, program, and early massing to establish a clear design direction.

02

Feasibility

Zoning, code, and budget checks so the concept is buildable before it's refined.

03

Schematic Design

Plans, sections, and elevations that fix layout, form, and material direction.

04

Design Development

Details and systems resolved into a coordinated package, ready for construction documents.

Why work this way

Design that's resolved before it's drawn for permit.

Most rework happens when concept decisions get revisited during construction documentation. I hold the design to a fixed, coordinated standard by the end of design development — so your CD team, or general contractor, is building from a settled set of decisions, not still making them.

Where this service ends: at a complete design development set. From there, your project is ready to move into construction documents and permit submission — either with your own CD architect or a referral I can help arrange.
Selected work

A few projects along the way.

Infill Residence

Concept through DD for a two-story infill lot with tight setback constraints.

ADU Feasibility

Zoning and buildable-area study for a detached accessory unit.

Mixed-Use Concept

Early massing and program study for a ground-floor retail, upper-floor residential building.
